About the Family

What started as 2 kids from Tuttle has turned into a not so perfect, sometimes messy, but usually full of laughter little family. After marriage we added a perfect a little basset hound, and an even better little baby girl. We love our real life!

Babymoon With the Folks

Since we are expecting our first little bundle of joy in September, Zach and I decided to take a little trip to celebrate and just get away one more time.  Our parameters? Somewhere cheap, easy to get to, and within the continental United States.  We found out my parents had already planned a trip to Colorado around the time we wanted to go, so we decided to tag along with them. One of the things I love about vacations is that there is always something to learn, whether it be about yourself, the people you travel with, or life in general.  Here is what I learned on our Babymoon.

1. Driving up Pike's Peak is scary.  Especially in a tiny little 4x4 Jeep.  Even more so when my dad decides to use his phone to find a good spot for lunch.

  2.  Even though it may be warm when you start the trip, it will be cold at 14,000 feet. Pretty, but cold.

3.  While pregnant, my bladder control isn't what it used to be.  Yes, I was one of those lucky ladies who could hold it until a nice, clean, indoor restroom with proper plumbing was available.  Unfortunately I have been reduced to outhouses with holes in the ground.
4. My husband is still a little kid at heart.  He loves big trucks, abandoned mines, and 100 year old graveyards.

5.  A bed and breakfast tucked away in the mountains will probably be gorgeous.
